Many of our destination brides need to be sure their weddings are hassle-free plus fun for themselves and their guests but they also want the special local touches and no-expense-spared kind of detail that make it a truly memorable occasion. Here are a few suggestions
- Have Bellevue driver meet you at the airport makes for a stress free arrival.
- Hire cars for the vacation can be delivered the following morning after breakfast.
- Book an arrival meal after a flight you do not want to be concerned with preparing food
- Send a list before arrival of the basics you will need and they will be in house for you
- A chef for the vacation will be a bonus not only delicious food but no Supermarket shopping
Unpack later ! On arrival relax on the veranda and watch the glorious sunset, drink in hand .Unwind whilst dinner is prepared on the terrace. The bridal party dresses will be steamed by our laundress the wedding morning , shirts starched so the suitcases can wait a little longer
Your wedding planner (in Bellevue’s case, Terry and Rahanna) will have suggested that the wedding day rehearsal of the ceremony is staged in the late afternoon when the sun is losing its heat invariably the day before the ceremony.
The arrangements for the wedding day have been made , our couples are driven to the Office of home affairs and back to the sun lounger or the beach . No need to worry about the details.
Pre-wedding night in the House is always fun with the guys in the separate cottage doing their ‘men’ thing and the girls having pre-wedding hairstyling and manicures – then everyone piles into a Taxi heading for one of Barbados lively night clubs on the beach a short drive away.
The wedding day is remarkably relaxed we find – it’s a pamper morning for the bride and bridesmaids as the masseuse, hairdresser, and make-up artist arrive. Meanwhile the chef , Florist and decorators are preparing for the ceremony.
A Butler for the day is true style , he will keep the glasses filled all day and the snacks at just the right tim.
If it’s a beach wedding, the stylist will remind the ladies to pile on the sun-cream and spray extra lacquer in elaborate hair-dos to counter the humidity. If the wedding’s in the gardens or under a marquee, everything has been prepared well in advance and brides really no need for concern
An evening event can be capped with spectacular fireworks or typical bajan limbo dancer who always has the guests trying “ How low can you Go “ combined with a live group or simple pan music of the islands is hard to beat for the real caribbean sound.
The following day ….. Chill either on a catamaran , the beach or relax by the pool and reminisce .
