Winter Yoga Retreat with Adam Husler 17th – 24th November 2015

p1p2

A rejuvenating and tranquil seven night yoga and meditation retreat in the beautiful surrounds of Bellevue Plantation in Barbados. The retreat is led by Adam Husler, a world-class instructor whose biography is on the second page. Bellevue is the perfect setting for a yoga holiday, enjoying its own, extensive grounds and close proximity to the beach.  The retreat includes morning and evening yoga classes, set on the premises and the beach, whilst  local therapists will be on hand to provide massage, reflexology and much more.  All meals are included and designed to complement the retreat’s healthy ethos, with Caribbean-influenced vegetarian and vegan dishes (fish available on request) and fresh cleansing juices.

Time outside the classes and workshops is yours to spend as you like – explore the delightful, Caribbean Georgian house with its beautiful verandahs and galleries or venture out for shopping, water-sports and any of the other attractions Barbados has to offer. Bellevue is quite unlike any other Barbados experience – it combines the sweeping grandeur of the past with the amenities of today; a lush, tropical garden, air-conditioned suites with balconies, and a large swimming pool make up just a small fraction of its charms, all of which will be exclusively available to guests on the retreat.

Adam Husler is a UK based teacher, teaching in some of London’s top yoga studios, at international events and will soon be teaching online with Udaya UK. With experience in law school, on the ultra-marathon road, in martial arts dojos, on trekking paths and lifting heavy objects in the gym, Adam certainly brings a unique perspective to yoga practice.  During the retreat, the predominant  style of the daily classes will be alignment based vinyasa yoga; creative sequences, with intelligent anatomical alignment, flowing at an un-rushed speed to allow the development of strength and exploration of depth. Each day will feature a targeted vinyasa practice and an additional themed class e.g. restorative yoga, Budokon yoga and developing arm balances. Elements of mindfulness and meditation will feature throughout.

The land was once acres of sugar cane as far as the eye could see. Over the past 300 yrs there have been many changes to our island and sugar is no longer the leading industry it was.
